New Heidelberg UV Printing Press at Sz. Variáns | 2026

With a HUF 660 million investment, Sz. Variáns Kft. commissioned a new Heidelberg UV printing press, further expanding its premium packaging production capacity.

The aim of the investment is to increase our production capacity and efficiency, while further expanding our capabilities in the manufacturing of premium and luxury paper-based packaging.

New opportunities in premium packaging production

One of the key advantages of UV printing technology is that the ink cures immediately after being applied to the surface. This makes it possible to achieve high-quality print results even on substrates that are more difficult to print using conventional processes.

In addition to cartonboard, the new press is also suitable for printing on metallised materials and other non-absorbent substrates.

With five printing units and an in-line coating option, the press can produce complex visual effects in a single pass. This is particularly valuable in the production of premium product packaging, rigid boxes and custom paper-based boxes.

Investment in our Debrecen production facility

Tens of millions of paper-based packaging units are produced each year at Sz. Variáns’ Debrecen facility. Our machinery park includes more than 30 pieces of equipment, and the new Heidelberg UV printing press represents one of its most significant upgrades.

The investment was implemented with support from the Demján Sándor Programme. The programme finances 29% of the total investment cost, approximately HUF 200 million, while the remaining amount is covered by our company from its own and other sources.

By introducing this new technology, our goal is to provide even broader production possibilities for our domestic and international partners looking for custom, high-quality paper-based packaging.
