In April 2018, Sz.Variáns Packaging Technology Limited Liability Company was awarded a non-repayable grant of HUF 15 million in the grant application scheme titled “Improvement of the competitiveness of SMEs with adaptive technological innovation”. Through this investment, a glue-mounting table has been purchased.

Our company has been involved in the making of printed products and the manufacturing paper-based packaging materials since 1994. Sz. Variáns Ltd. was established in January 1998 as the legal successor of Sz. Variáns Limited Partnership, which was founded in 1994.
Our products can be classified in four categories: industrial packaging devices, handmade paper bags, – paper packaging devices, paper-based marketing devices, luxury packaging devices.

Most of our operations focus on the manufacturing of high-quality products that carry large added values. Some of our reference works have been completed for: Herendi porcelain, T-Mobile, Stühmer chocolate manufacturing company, Gerbeaud chocolate manufacturing company, Tokaj Trading House, Richter Gedeon Ltd., Samsung products. A significant proportion of our high-quality products features high added value owing to the manual operations involved. For this reason, our contract manufacturing operations considerably rely on the work of people with changed working abilities. In the East Hungarian region, our company is one of the major employers with an outstandingly large headcount among companies involved rehabilitation employment.

The goal of the project was such innovative development of the company’s operations that was to increase the effectiveness of production. The investment resulted in the procurement of equipment that had not been available at the time of the submission of the grant application, and through the procurement our company became able to deploy and apply substantially modified procedures and technology.

Owing to the grant, the development of our company accelerated with the concurrent reinforcement of its market position, a secure, foreseeable vision could be drawn up in order to sustain the consistent strengthening of our market position.

Amount of the non-repayable grant: HUF 15 million

In July 2015, Sz.Variáns Packaging Technology Limited Liability Company was awarded a non-repayable grant of HUF 43.72 million in the grant application scheme titled “Expansion of the production capacities of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises”. With the investment, the procurement of equipment and IT developments were implemented.

Technological development for the improvement of Sz.Variáns Ltd’s operations, grant application for site modernisation within the framework of the GOP. 2.1.1- 12/B-2013-0430 scheme with the awarded amount being HUF 113.74 million.

In December 2017, Sz.Variáns Packaging Technology Limited Liability Company was awarded a non-repayable grant of HUF 248.76 million in the grant application scheme titled “Expansion of the production capacities of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises”. Through this project, infrastructure investments, the procurement of equipment and information technology development were realised.

The goal of this project is to procure new manufacturing equipment, IT devices, software for the expansion of our production capacity, as well as expand our production plant in order to install the equipment and devices. Such equipment procurement is to be executed for the expansion of our production capacities, while owing to the heightened quality and fastness of production it helps us to target new markets. With our enhanced effectiveness in the hands of our existing personnel and employees to be recruited, we will be able to undertake larger work volumes. With the investment, we will come in possession of technologies that can be aligned with out existing technological equipment for the improvement of production quality.

Sz.Variáns Ltd’s development will potentially accelerate with the employment of the grant, and the developments that could otherwise be implemented just over the span of several years with own funding will become available for implementation within a much shorter period of time.
